Biting His Thumb (Part The Continued)

I want to thank Gary Bettman and Jarkko Ruutu for giving me another excuse to throw up a picture of Elisha Cuthbert, because as they say, sex sells. And in this case, sexual innuendo means a longer NHL suspension than biting a man's hand.

The NHL acted on the Jarkko Ruutu thumb biting incident by suspending Ruutu for two games. Which is kind of amazing in that Sean Avery got six games for insulting Elisha Cuthbert. Nothing against Elisha Cuthbert, but I just fail to understand how calling someone "sloppy seconds" warrants a bigger suspension than biting a fellow player.

Worse the fact Cindy Crosby gets nothing for speed bagging or jumping Brett Mclean.

Of course Tootoo got nothing for his biting episode of Tyler Wright in 2004 did he?

Picked up a book last week at Barnes and Noble titled "The Code" by Ross Bernstein I think. It was in the sports section along with a grand total of about 5 other hockey type books. Interesting reading. Anyhow, there is mention made in the book that an open glove into a player's face is one of the worst possible insults. Shows zero respect. I haven't finished the book yet but so far no comments about thumb biting.
