Danny Irmen Goes Wild

Okay, some of you mocked me yesterday when I said that it was possible that Danny Irmen could get a call up to the Minnesota Wild to replace the injured Andrew Brunette. And I thought it was a long shot myself -- I thought Corey Locke or Jesse Schultz would get a call-up first.

And Michael Russo had written that if Brunette couldn't skate tonight then Erik Reitz would move up from defense to the forward to replace him if necessary. But the Aeros have announced that Irmen has been called up to the Wild. And Russo says that Irmen will play tonight if Brunette can't skate.

I like Irmen -- he's a great guy to talk to in the locker room -- but I'm not sure what he can add to the Wild. Anyway, good luck. And good luck to the Aeros who are down another forward due to injuries in Houston and Minnesota. I'm willing to bet that Marco Rosa's ankle is suddenly much better this weekend.

I would apologize for mocking you but frankly, I stand behind it and now I must mock the Wild as well.

So, Dear Wild:

Really? Irmen?
