The Chron Actually Kind of Reports Something

I shouldn't complain. At least the Chron is actually covering this, but...

There's a story posted atop Chron.com of Houston Texans owner Bob McNair denying a secret meeting with himself, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and Texans' player reps Mark Bruener and Kris Brown. This allegation has arisen from a lawsuit filed by Mary Moran, the former director of human relations for the NFL Players Association who says that she was placed on the leave because she cooperated with this meeting.

Of course, this being the Chron, there are no real facts to the story. All that the story tells us is that McNair and Goodell supposedly met with Bruener and Brown to get confidential information regarding the Players Association. What that info is, the Chron doesn't tell us, or even try to guess at. Whether Moran was really placed on leave, the Chron doesn't tell us.

All the Chron tells us are that Moran's allegations are 100 percent false. What those allegations are, well, who the hell knows because the Chron's telling us. Better to protect Mr. McNair, I guess.

I'm sure they were just getting together to pray. Or maybe for Bible study.

Because that's what's important to Mr. McNair, right?

Surely such a good Xian as Mr. McNair, who reportedly likes his employees to be similarly upstanding, wouldn't be engaged in secret meetings to obtain confidential information from the NFL's labor union....

Nah, I'm sure they were all either praying or studying the Bible. *wink*
